Practical Nursing

About the Practical Nursing program:

The Practical Nursing program prepares students to meet the licensure requirements for Licensed Practical Nurse, as established by the Louisiana State Board of Practical Nurse Examiners. The comprehensive program consists of classroom instruction, lab practicum and supervised clinical activities in accredited hospitals, nursing homes and other health care agencies.

Each course in the Practical Nursing program must be successfully completed with a minimum score of 80 percent. Upon graduation, students are awarded diplomas and are eligible to take the National Council of State Boards Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN).

The Practical Nursing program is a competitive admissions program which has additional admisions requirements from the general admissions into Northshore Technical Community College. Be sure to review the Practical Nursing specific admissions requirements below:
